Longing For Christmas
Are you starting to dream of Christmas?
This year has held its own share of hardship, but “the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn”
The expectation of God's goodness has carried us through uncertainty in the world, and I find myself planning for cozy celebrations as a family a little earlier this year.
I poured all of this longing for cozy into a beautiful new Christmas guide. Each week is a celebration of our kindergarten and elementary resources in order to provide a mid year pause, while still reinforcing the lovely stories that you have been reading.
In the Christmas Guide Volume 2, you will find four weeks of themes that correspond with our kindergarten and elementary learning resources, making it a perfect addition to your homeschool rhythm, or a wonderful sampler of our resources.
We include a week of Nourishing Nature Christmas with books and crafts that celebrate the seasonal changes, a week of Playful Pioneers Christmas with fun handcrafts and sweet stories that highlight generosity and resourcefulness, a week of Kind Kingdom Christmas with cozy recipes and carols celebrating Christmas in Europe.
We close out the four weeks of learning with a heartwarming Precious People Christmas with art, crafts, and stories from around the world.
The phonics and counting skills activities are geared toward preschool and kindergarten, but we've included some modifications to make them a great fit for older students, and the books, art, poetry, and activities are fun for all ages. It’s great for the whole family!
We include beautiful new book suggestions:
The Message of the Birds by Kate Westerlund
Christmas Farm by Mary Lyn Ray
Apple Tree Christmas by Trinka Hakes Noble
A Simple Christmas on the Farm by Phyllis Alsdurf
Lucy’s Christmas by Donald Hall
Christmas in Noisy Village by Astrid Lindgren
The Nutcracker illustrated by Valeria DoCampo
The Jolly Christmas Postman by Allan Ahlberg
12 Days of Christmas by Rachel Isadora
The Night of Las Posadas by Tomie de Paola
Twas the Evening of Christms by Glenys Nellist
And we even include a new poem, recipe, and art piece for each week!
