Adventuring Through European History With The Kind Kingdom
"The habits of the child produce the character of the man."
-Charlotte Mason
The beauty of a Charlotte Mason education is the opportunity to develop character though living books and projects that highlight qualities such as endurance, bravery, honor, & mercy.
Here at The Peaceful Press we learn from brave and honorable characters as we explore this theme together as a family.
We travel throughout European history from the Middle Ages to the Cold War.
We learn about kings and queens, knights and castles, botany, fairy tales, Shakespeare & more!
In typical Peaceful Press fashion we discover practical skills, fine art, timelines, hymns, recipes and all of the many things that you have come to know and love from our curriculums.
The Kind Kingdom Volume 2 parent guide is a Charlotte Mason-inspired guide to European history for elementary students. The guide will lead you through daily readings designed to provide a 30-week overview of major events in Europe, using heartwarming literature, Our Island Story, Andersen's Fairy Tales, and Tales From Shakespeare as a spine.
As your child learns about new people and places through the recommended books and projects, they will gain a greater understanding of the foundations of European culture and literature, and while many of the events were anything but kind, your children will gain a moral imagination as they read about how brave people responded to difficult events. The parent guide includes suggested language arts activities, poetry, hymns, Bible verses, map work, timeline work, science experiments, art, practical life skills, and much more. The bundle also includes an extended book list for parents or students who want more reading on the subjects covered.
We hope that you'll join us on this grand adventure with The Kind Kingdom Volume 2!
