In our own homes, the world can sometimes feel so small.

Day by day as we gather together and as we travel the vastness of the world with The Precious People we are transferred to different times and to different places.

As we travel throughout the ends of the earth we are able to see things come to life in new and amazing ways.

Learning about the ancient world can make history not seem so far away as we learn about ancient people through living books.

Utilizing the timeline cards helps us to see where it all fits into the bigger picture of time.

As we dig our hands into projects like basket making, baking challah, and making candles we enter a time and a place where time was slower and working with your hands was common practice.

We learn to slow down, enter into the lives of the characters and families that we read of, and as we glean from their lives well-lived we are encouraged to live well in the present.

We also have the opportunity to learn from the past and apply those things to the future and how we choose to live our lives.

What a magical experience that daily inspires our love for learning and living!

Where are you traveling to in your studies today?

Today we are in ancient Egypt!

During our study of Ancient Egypt, we made paper, built a shaduf, ate Egyptian foods, created notebook pages, learned about mummies and pyramids, and so much more! You can enjoy learning about Egypt as well with The Precious People, a thirty-week world history resource.
