Easter Fun When You Have To Stay Home
Easter 2020 was stranger than fiction, with the egg hunts canceled and the churches closed. Easter 2021 is still a little different, with much of the world still wearing masks to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
We love to stretch spring and Easter activities into the weeks following (Easter candy is on sale then!), and create mini celebrations throughout spring.
We’ve been studying the life of Jesus in anticipation of our resurrection celebration, and you can join the study with our Good Gospel: A-Z Bible Resource for Children. Each lesson is paired with art, simple crafts, and meaningful contemplation moments to help children connect with God.
In our home, most celebrations are anchored around special books. We read The Longest Night in anticipation of Passover (download a free Passover guide here), The Jesus Storybook Bible in anticipation of Easter, and of course, a whole list of books when we close out the year at Christmas.
We may not be able to grab books from the library to anchor our celebrations this year but there are many beautiful read-along books on Youtube and we’ve curated a few for you here (you can also click the title to purchase on Amazon).
And if you just want a sweet video to celebrate the new life in spring, check out this short one on Youtube:
After you read a few stories together, you can take time throughout the week to engage in any of these favorite spring activities.
Dye Hard Boiled Eggs
Hide and Find Chocolate Eggs
