Summer School Rhythm

Schooling throughout the summer can offer our families some of the wonderful benefits of creating memories together, structure, and learning opportunities. Even though summer is an opportunity to take a break from more formal education it also presents a beautiful opportunity to learn and adventure in different and beautiful ways with less formal structure and more freedom to explore the world around us.

Keeping a familiar rhythm throughout the summer can help us to transition well from year to year.

Here are some suggested rhythms to keep throughout the days of summer:
- Morning Time
- Read Alouds
- Time in Nature
- Family Devotions
- Tea Time

Gathering for morning time can help to keep a familiar rhythm and can keep your family's daily priorities such as family devotions and read alouds at the forefront of your days. Time out in nature has so many benifits including vitamin D, fresh air, grounding, learning opportunities, and taking in the beauty of God's creation. Tea time can be a wonderful opportunity to come together in the afternoon and a good time to incorporate beauty subjects using audio books, painting, listening to classical music, hymns, and folk songs.
