Fun Fall Learning

Phonics 
Make a large letter T with bark, leaves, or pinecones.

Fine Motor Skills
Sort acorns by size. When you gather acorns from outside you can bake at 200 degrees for one hour to kill any bacteria or bugs.

Large Motor Skills
Using tape fastened sticky side out, make a bracelet and go outside and hunt for all the parts of trees that you can stick to your bracelet, such as leaves, small pinecones, small sticks, etc.

Practical Life Skills
Make a dutch apple baby (see recipe below).

Art Skills
Make leaf animals using different shaped leaves for legs, head, body, and tail.

Dutch Apple Baby

Preheat oven to 425

Peel and thinly slice 4-5 apples and place in a heated cast iron skillet with 6 T butter and 1/4 c. cinnamon sugar.

Cook over medium heat.

While apples are cooking, beat together 4 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 cup flour, and a dash salt. When apples are translucent, pour beaten egg mixture over them and place in oven. Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
